I honestly was so incredibly impressed with their set, it was the best show I have ever seen! They had so much energy and the venue was really small, and I was right up against the stage which was amazing! It was also really cool that I got to meet a few of them before the show, and Mario (vocals), Dominic (white guitar) and Grant (bass) signed my shirt!! I've never ever met a band member before so honestly I was just so pumped about that. Holy.
We also met the opening band, The Beverlys and we had some conversations. It turns out they've played with one of our favourite local bands Watershed Hour at our very own bar The Spill, so we'll hopefully set something up with them!
Unfortunately when I got home from the show I went on the Orwells tag and discovered that Mario is the biggest asshole on the planet (not just that, but he yells shit like 'faggot' onstage, and he was pretty rude to me & my friend in comparison to how he was treating other people, more stereotypically attractive girls. plus everything he posts on his twitter is revolting) . I still like The Orwells for their music, but next time I see them I am probably going to punch mario in the face and cut off all of his hair so he hopefully looses his fucked up ego.
anyway, I thought I'd share a couple of photos of spots around my room b/c I'm kind of in love with it right now... and I honestly don't spend enough time in it! here we go! :)
the view of my record corner from my bed...
aaand an overview of my bass area thingy from standing on my bed. to the right of the photo is where my door is, and to the left is where my records etc. are. My room is pretty much tiny, but it's packed to the brim & it's perfect for me :)
my cool friends The Faux Cults just put out an EP yesterday! We're playing with them next week at The Spill, and I can't wait to get my hands on a physical copy! you should definitely check it out. My personal favourites are 'little birdy' and 'party from hell', but it's all really good. yay for home recording!
I hope you're all having a lovely week!
