*last school related post of the year*
So, in all truth, school can be okay sometimes.
I am on the arts council at school (called SMAC. kind of like student council but better), and we organized this super cool thing called Art-O-Thon. It's basically a night where there are a bunch of cool and unique art workshops. For instance, I ran a Zine workshop (see my unfinished attempt at a zine above), Frances ran a Movie dance workshop where she taught you how to do the Time Warp and the dance from Pulp Fiction, there was a musical petting zoo, stirfry workshop, button making workshop, everything! and there was live music at the end! Sadly no one came except for arts council, but that meant there was more food for us at the potluck before the work shop. Yum.
Another reason school is okay, is my science class. I think it definitely makes a difference when you have a really good teacher, and I definitely do. She explains things really well and it's entertaining to be in her class. I feel really smart in her class. For the end of our light/optics unit, we had an option of making an optical device, so I made a projector for the purpose of projecting an image the right size to make a poster/mural/etc. It was probably one of the most interesting school projects I have ever done. That is another thing that I definitely enjoy.
Also in english/art class (they are combined, since I'm in a super duper cool arts program), we are putting on a play of Midsummer Night's Dream. There is a lot to do and very little time, but I am really excited. I am playing the role of Hermia, which is super fun but oh my god there is so much PDA it's not funny and actually kind of creepy.
Anywhoo, then there's the side of school where they're spending 3 bloody million dollars on a frickin' football field. THIS IS CANADA. You can only use a field for like 3 months of the school year, since those are the only 3 months it is not buried in snow. $3 million that could have been used to fix everything else that does not work in my school like the fact that the windows don't open and our auditorium is a nasty piece of work.
So yes, apologies for all the ranting. I have been sick, and then utterly busy since then. I'll try and post some interesting things this month but exams are coming up and so much crap is happening and asdfghjkl life. but then summer will happen, along with lots of other great things like sleep.
